Whatever comes first — the subject, a time, a place — the verb comes second, and the subject moves after it if needed:
- Ich fahre morgen nach Berlin.
- Morgen fahre ich nach Berlin.
In clauses with dass, weil, wenn, ob the verb goes to the end: Ich bleibe zu Hause, weil ich müde bin.
With two verbs (modal, perfect tense), the second goes to the end: Ich kann heute nicht kommen.
| position 1 | position 2 (verb) | rest | end |

| Ich | will | heute ins Kino | gehen |
