der, die, das: genderEvery German noun has a gender: masculine (der), feminine (die) or neuter (das). Learn each noun WITH its article.
The present tenseRegular verbs follow one pattern: take the stem and add the ending.
Word order: the verb in position 2In a German main clause the conjugated verb is always the SECOND element.
The four casesGerman articles change depending on the role of the noun in the sentence: subject, direct object, indirect object or possession.
Modal verbskönnen, müssen, wollen, dürfen, sollen, mögen: they change the meaning of another verb, which goes to the end.
